Ausangate Trek 2 days Trip overview
The Ausangate 2 Day Trek is ideal for those with limited time who still want to experience the majestic Ausangate Mountain, the fifth highest mountain in Peru. This adventure includes visits to the impressive Ausangate Lake on the first day and the vibrant 7 Ausangate Lakes on the second. You will spend the night in cozy campsites and finish the trek relaxing in the hot springs of Pacchanta, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and the daily life of the local farming community.
Ausangate trek 2 days Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Tinki – Upis
Your adventure begins at 6:00 am when we pick you up from your hotel and take a private van to Tinki, a small town 2 hours away. Here, you’ll experience local life as villagers still wear traditional clothing, and your guide will share insights about their remote lifestyle.
Next, we’ll continue for about an hour along a dusty road to Upispampa, where our chef will serve a hearty breakfast to fuel your hike. The 3-hour trek to our campsite takes you through remote villages and across scenic streams. Upon arriving in Upis, you’ll settle into our cozy cabins and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our cook.
In the afternoon, you can choose to hike to Upis Lake (2 hours round trip) or relax in the soothing hot springs. Afterward, we’ll gather for dinner and enjoy the stunning starry sky—a memory you’ll cherish forever.

Day 2: Upis – 7 Lakes – Pacchanta – Cusco
Wake up to a warm cup of coca tea or coffee delivered to your cabin and enjoy a delicious breakfast before setting out for the day. A 20-minute uphill walk brings you to a viewpoint offering spectacular views of Ausangate in all its glory.
The trek continues with a mix of uphill and downhill trails until you reach the breathtaking 7 Lakes of Ausangate. Spend about an hour exploring the area, soaking in the stunning views of the snow-capped mountain from new angles.
Afterward, descend to the Pacchanta hot springs, where you can relax in the warm waters while taking in the views of Ausangate towering above. Following a well-deserved lunch, we’ll bid farewell to our horseman and chef before heading back to Cusco. You’ll arrive at your hotel around 5:00 pm.

How to book the Ausangate Trek 2 days
To book your Ausangate Trek 2 Days, click the BOOK NOW button and select your departure date. Next, fill in the personal information for each participant. Finally, complete the booking by paying a $50 deposit per person.
During the booking process, you’ll also have the option to add extras such as an emergency horse, walking sticks, or sleeping bags. These can be booked alongside your deposit or arranged at our office during the briefing session one day before your departure.
Once we receive your deposit, you’ll receive a confirmation email, and your trip to Ausangate will be fully secured.
